Am I obligated to stay with Hidden Owl if a major publisher shows interest?

No. Our agreement is non-exclusive. Hidden Owl provides publishing services for the self-publisher. You own all the rights to your work.

Who does your work?

Richard Levine, along with other experienced designers and editors when neccessary.

Will you publish anything?

No. It must be publishable. And, of course, it must be legal. It would be of no service to you to publish unfinished or drafts that need additional polishing. We can evaluate, suggest and offer re-writing or editing services. With rare exceptions (Asimov was one), it takes more work to get from first draft to polished manuscript than to the first draft.

How much do you charge?

Projects vary in complexity and size, and each is unique. Unlike with restaurant menus, costs vary and quotes can only be given after a consultation. If you go on-line and compare prices you'll find we are competitive – in most cases less expensive, while more flexible, than other self-publishing companies. However, a significant difference is that we will not publish just because you pay. Good writing takes effort.
